About Dr. Helen Gilmore
Dr. Helen Gilmore is a native of South Florida. Born in Lake Worth, she graduated from Lake Worth High School and Palm Beach Community College, earning her bachelors’ and master’s degrees from Florida Atlantic University and her Ed.D. doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She began her career teaching kindergarten in a private school and after graduating from FAU began teaching first grade at Palm Beach Public Elementary School. After teaching all grades in elementary school, she became the program specialist for gifted education for Palm Beach County, a position she held for 8 years, until her decision to leave the school system and begin her own Learning Center. In addition to operating the Helen Gilmore Learning Center, Dr. Gilmore has taught graduate education classes, as an adjunct professor, for Nova Southeastern University for over 20 years. A recognized authority, Dr. Gilmore has taught many workshops on gifted education worldwide, including Australia, Portugal and Germany.
