Dr. Helen Gilmore counsels many parents who need help with their child’s educational progress. She is available to attend parent conferences at the schools. There is a consulting fee for these services and appointments are required.

     I.Q. testing is available at the Helen Gilmore Learning Center to assess qualification for the Gifted Education program and Specific Learning Disabilities in the public school system. Licensed school psychologists administer evaluations at the Center; the results are accepted by the school system. Results are given verbally the day of the evaluation, and a written report is mailed shortly after.

     Enrichment or remedial tutoring is offered – reading, language arts, and elementary math, science and social studies. Writing skill instruction is available for all ages, including adults. In addition, preparing for the verbal section of the GED, SAT or ACT assessments are offered. Excellent Math tutors can be recommended.  The tutoring schedule is customized to fit the family’s busy schedule. A package of six hours of after-school tutoring can be obtained. The package can be delivered in one-hour weekly sessions. Two and three hour-per-week options are also given, pending schedule openings. Call Dr. Gilmore and discuss your needs with her. Students will be charged for sessions missed if timely, prior notice is not given.
